Romsey sixth formers take on a Team building challenge

Sixth formers in the Romsey area have been learning bushcraft survival skills as part of a school bonding exercise. The 16 and 17-year-olds at Hampshire Collegiate School - from the current lower sixth and year 11 groups - took part in the team building Adventure Day, organised by the school and run by Valley Leisure’s Explore Outdoor team.

Portsmouth player helps people get fit at The Rapids

People who play for Portsmouth football clubs aren’t always made to feel very welcome in and around Romsey and Southampton. But it’s a different story for one female footballer who’s helping Romsey people get fit.

New equipment gets Romsey’s not-so-fit on the move again

A new facility for people who haven't exercised for a while, or who need a little extra help, has been officially opened in Romsey.

The new toning centre at The Rapids, which is designed to ease people back into fitness, was opened by Test Valley Borough councilor Tony Ward, the community and leisure portfolio holder at the council.

New equipment to help people ease back into fitness

New equipment has been introduced to The Rapids in Romsey to help people ease back into fitness, especially if they're older, unfit, overweight or recovering from injury or illness.

The new toning centre, with its range of power-assisted equipment, will allow locals who feel less confident about their body's abilities to take the first steps needed to become more healthy and physically fit.

Wanted - pictures of health from yesteryear

Photos of local people having fun, playing sport and getting fit are needed by The Rapids in Romsey and Andover Leisure Centre.

The team's putting together a collection of photos showing 'fitness through the decades'. And they'd like to hear from people who have pictures taken in local venues or of local people getting fit in years gone by.
