Andover is set to be flooded with Santas when the annual Santa Fun Run returns this December.

The fun fitness event – scheduled for Sunday 11 December – is a mile-long fancy dress run, or walk, through Andover town centre, starting at Andover Leisure Centre.

It’s suitable for all ages. Everyone can go at their own pace.

Mums, dads, babies, toddlers, teenagers and grandparents are all among those who dress as the jolly man in red and join in. Some even bring their family pet!

Last year some 350 Santas painted the town red, and this year Valley Leisure, the charity that runs the event, hope a record numbers of red-suited, white bearded men, women and children take part.

Kevin Paterson, chief executive of Valley Leisure said: “It’s always a pleasure to host the Santa Fun Run. Last year’s events in Romsey and Andover were both a brilliant success and we hope to see even more people this year. They come together as a community to raise money for charity, be active and have fun.”

The event, which starts and finishes at Andover Leisure Centre, kicks off at 10am. Registration is from 8am and there’s a fun warm up at 9.45am.

Tickets, which cost £6 for an adult and £4 for a child, can be bought online on the Valley Leisure website at www.valleyleisure.co.uk/buyonline

Everyone who pre-books is guaranteed a Santa suit. They can be collected from the Andover Leisure Centre from now on.

Valley Leisure organises events, such as the fun run, to help more people become more active and support the local community.
