The end of school year was marked by a day of adventure for pupils at Andover’s Rookwood School.
A group of year nine students brought their school year to a close with a day filled with fun and challenges at Charlton Lakeside Pavilion.
The 27 children, who are aged 13 and 14, swapped the classroom for the great outdoors to take part in a variety of instructor-led activities including archery, climbing, team building exercises and canoeing.
Teachers Nathalie Monediere, Hanna Willcox and Martyn Crowe accompanied the children on the adventure day.
Natalie said: “It was a really fantastic day out with lots of great opportunities for the kids to get out of their comfort zone and try something new.”
The day was organised by Valley Leisure, the leisure trust who run Charlton Lakeside Pavilion and Andover Leisure Centre on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council.
Ben Thambipillai, assistant manager sport and activity, said: “It’s important that these kids do activities like these. Not only does it get them outdoors and moving, but they also learn key survival skills – plus it’s good fun!”
