Pink was the colour that packed a fundraising punch at Andover Leisure Centre recently.
By dressing up in everything from pink wigs to flashing pink sunglasses, the Valley Leisure team raised just over £100 for Breast Cancer Care.
“We had a great day for a great cause. We’re delighted we could support it,” said Mark Raithby, physical activity development manager with Valley Leisure and one of the organisers.
“The team’s really embraced the event. It’s surprising how many different things you can find in pink when you start looking,” he added.
The fundraising efforts were part of ‘Wear it Pink’ day which is a national campaign to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. The money raised will go towards funding world-class breast cancer researchers across the UK and Ireland.
