Saints football legend, Jason Dodd is asking adult football fans to come and join him at a free football tournament at Knightwood Leisure Centre’s new pitches in Valley Park.

The former Southampton player will open the tournament on Saturday, 22 August.

The event is being held to mark the transformation of the old multi-use games area into two new 3G football pitches to create some of the best playing surfaces in the area.

The renovation project was paid for jointly by Valley Leisure, who run the centre, and Test Valley Borough Council, who own it.

Jason, who is a Valley Leisure member and regularly uses the centres, said: “The 3G surface will be a great addition to an already fantastic facility. Not only will the pitches be great for football lovers but also for the whole community. I’m delighted to officially open them on August 22nd.”

The five-a-side competition will take place from 10am to 3pm and is open to anyone aged 18 or over.
