A new water based exercise class aimed at reintroducing older and less active people to regular exercise is launching in Andover this summer with a free taster session.
Aqua Zumba® blends original Zumba® music and moves with water resistance to create a low impact, high energy aquatic exercise class ideal for those looking to get back into exercise.
The new classes mark the third and final phase of the Move More with Zumba® fitness programme which is funded by Sport England, Sporta, Zumba® Fitness LLC, and Sport Hampshire Isle of Wight and run by leisure trust, Valley Leisure.
Liz Murray, Valley Leisure’s community manager said: “Working out in the water has a number of benefits. The buoyancy of the water supports those with joint conditions with the natural resistance of the water helping to tone and firm muscles.
“Aqua Zumba® also improves heart and lung health, as well as being a great way of de-stressing,” Liz added.
The Aqua Zumba launch event is set to be held at Andover Leisure Centre on Wednesday 13 July from 3pm to 3.45pm, with registration starting at 2.30pm. Spaces for the launch can be booked online at www.valleyleisure.co.uk/buyonline or by calling Andover Leisure Centre on 01264 347100.
