Romsey people will put their swinging hips to good use this weekend to raise money to send a terminally-ill woman on a special holiday with her young family.
The charity Zumba class at the Romsey Rapids Sport Complex will help Clare Baillie go on a trip to Disney World with her four children.
Clare, who’s 37, has terminal colon cancer and has been fighting the disease for the last three years, but now it has started to spread to other organs, she’s been told she only has three to six months to live.
The young woman’s last wish is to go to Florida with her husband and four children (aged from three to 18) before it’s too late.
Sassi Page, studio co-ordinator at the Romsey Rapids Sports Complex, who will be instructing the Rapids’ Zumba class said: “Clare is an inspiration and I am very happy to be helping her get one step closer to her dream.”
Clare, who is from Portsmouth, was the lead fundraiser for a friend diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The Zumba class takes place on Saturday 15 August from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Romsey Rapids Sports Centre.
People joining in will be asked for a £5 donation. There’s no need to book.
Dozens of other charity events are taking place to raise the £10,000 target to fly the Baillie family to Disney World, Florida. Events include raffles, family events and walks.
People can also donate by visiting Clare’s Disney Dream page on Just Giving.
