Recognising the powerful benefits of yoga for mental health, Valley Leisure and Andover Mind have teamed up to introduce Yoga for Wellbeing with Naomi Hurst of Doda Yoga – two courses designed to assist individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
These courses specifically cater to those facing stress, anxiety, or depression, offering a safe and supportive environment to explore yoga in a way that promotes emotional and psychological wellbeing. By combining Valley Leisure’s expertise in health and wellness with Andover Mind’s experience in mental health support, this partnership ensures that participants receive comprehensive support on their journey to improved mental health.
Yoga can positively impact mental health in various ways, including:
- Reducing Stress
- Easing Anxiety and Tension
- Managing Depression
- Enhancing Mindfulness
- Improving Sleep
The courses will run for 18 weeks, beginning on Tuesday 5th November 2024. Priority registration is available for residents of King Arthurs Way, Roman Way, Cricketers Way, and Pilgrims Way. All necessary equipment will be provided – just come dressed in comfortable clothing suitable for movement. A donation toward the cost of the session is welcome; contribute whatever amount you are able.
