Week 7 Update
5 fixtures were completed on week 7, due to players being unavailable, with 3 matches to be completed. The current league table sees Lee move back into top spot with 33 points, despite suffering a 5-3 loss to Lesley.

The opening game saw the points halved, as both players scored 186 total each. Lesley then took the 2nd game with a 224 – 202 victory. The third game saw a close contest, with Lee taking the 2 points with a 185 – 177 score-line, but he could not prevent Lesley taking the overall points total. This result see’s Lesley in 10th position on 24 points.

Mark has moved into 2nd position on 32 points after an 8-0 victory over Roger. The opening game saw a 238 – 179 victory to Mark, while the 2nd game also went in Mark’s favour (204 – 167). Mark continued the high scoring in the 3rd game to earn the High Series score of 662 for the season so far, as well take the final points on offer. Roger sits in 5th position on 28 points.

Jason also earned an 8-0 victory over Cheryl. A close 1st game saw Jason win by 7 pins (177 – 170), Jason then took the 2nd game with a 240 – 181 and then 3rd game by 224 – 196. Thus winning the overall by 94 pins. Cheryl now sits in 9th position on 25 points. Jason’s 2nd game high score has taken the High Game Scratch of the Season so far to date and his Scratch total of 614 also became the High Series Scratch to beat. Jason moved into 3rd place on 30 points and also has a match in hand on the players above him.

Another 8-0 victory, saw Ian D claim maximum points over Ian W . 20 pins separated the two bowlers after the 1st game (193 – 173). The 2nd game was even closer, with Ian D winning by 10 pins (183 – 173) and then he took the remaining points following a 206 – 180 win in the 3rd game. The result see’s Ian D move into 6th place on 28 points, while Ian W sits in 13th position on 20 points.

Nothing separated the bowlers of the final game, with Phil and Ashton level on points in the league table. This still remains the case following a 4-4 draw on the night. A narrow opening game win (180 – 177) was backed up with a (171 – 154) success for Phil. Ashton then recovered to take the 3rd game with a 198 – 169 win and ensured a tie by taking the overall total by 9 pins (529 – 520). This result see’s Phil remain in 7th position in the table, on 26 points, with Ashton in 8th place, with just pinfall separating the two bowlers.

Looking at the fixtures for Week 8, we again have some highly anticipated matches – with Mark paired against Ian D and it’s Father verses Daughter with Ian W facing off against Cheryl.

Overall the league is still very close, with a number of bowlers still in contention.
